Man Enough

This collage celebrates the full spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community, with a specific nod to dismantling traditional masculinity. While the centerpiece features a "hunk" (from "After Dark” magazine), the central focus is on self-acceptance and rejecting conformity. Playful winks come in the form of repurposed text ("It's man enough" from a “Playboy Magazine” deodorant ad) and the inclusion of violets and purple pansies – a nod to both pride colors and poking fun at stereotypical language. Lastly, the holographic paper weaved in the background represents Disco, one of the most inclusive music genres. This piece is a reminder that being true to yourself, no matter your identity, is the manliest (or most fabulous) thing you can be.
